What is a domain and why do I have to pay for it each year?
A domain simply put – is your address for your online property (your website). You need to renew your registration for it each year otherwise it will expire and you will have no address for your website. You can however renew it for more than one year which is usually more affordable.

I operate a beauty salon at home do I qualify for this deal?
Yes you do.

What if I want to change something on my site after you have made it for me – do you charge for that?
For errors etc we will make corrections for you at no extra cost for your first 30 days.
We also give you one free update per month after your free-30-day ends. We will make your change then and no extra cost to you.
What is the Annual Cost -After site is Built?
In a nutshell your ONLY two cost each year to keep your site on the internet are: domain renewal for up to $14.99 and hosting your site $99 plus taxes – a total of approximately $120 annually. It cost about $10 per month to have your site ongoing. You simply cannot find a better value for your advertising dollar.

Is 5 pages good enough for a website?
Absolutely! We wouldn’t be offering if it was not sufficient for you. If you plan to sell items from your site – then you will need a different website solution.

Get I get flash on my site?
Yes -but at additional cost. However, many clients stated that customers complained that when they visit their flash salon site at work it creates undue attention from their co-workers and supervisor because of the music/flash.

Can I load music and video to my site ?
Yes – you can.
Can I add more pages to my site if I need to?
Yes – We can add a page to your site for only $19.99

Can I get the photo-gallery anytime after my site is up?
Yes, we can add your photo gallery whenever you need it. We prefer that you have all your photographs ready at the time you order your photo gallery.

What is the difference between hosting and domain?
Domain is (as stated above) your website address example www.salonsofcanada.ca. This is what visitors will type in their browser to find you. Your domain is unique to YOU no one else can have the EXACT address – they can have similar but not exact. Example someone could purchase a domain similar to the one above such as www.salonsofcanada.com they are similar but NOT exact one is .ca and the other .com.

Hosting is a service you will need to keep your site visible on the internet. If you do not have hosting no one will know about your site and it will be only accessible to you on your hard drive. It is pointless to make a site and not have it hosted.

Do I have to get hosting when I purchase my domain?
NO! You only need hosting when your site is built and ready to launch.

What if I don’t have a domain can I still get a website?
YES! You can get a site built on someones domain – in other words you are piggy-backing on someone else’s domain. The proper description is that your site is a sub-domain. Example: Let’s say you have a spa called sharon’s spa – You could get a site on the domain of salonsofcanada.ca as follows: www.salonsofcanada.ca/sharonsspa. This is not recommended because you do not own your site in this situation and it makes you vulnerable. If salons of canada decides not to continue in business your site will be lost to you. It is always recommended to get your own domain.

How long does it take to have my website ready?
It depends on your method of payment and if ALL information is provided. It typically takes 5 - 7 days for paypal clients. For payment by cheque it take about 15 – 21 days to allow for payment clear.

Do I have to maintain and update my site myself?
Oh No - we take care of maintenance and upkeep of your site. We offer you one free update per month. We take care of your site so that you are free to take care of your clients.

What if I want more than 5 pages?
We offer multiple pages sites you can select for 5 – 20 pages. We do offer unlimited pages too for additional cost. Most salons will not require more than 10 pages, therefore do not purchase more than you need.
Do I really get a real site for my salon exactly like the beautiful samples you have on the right side of your site for $99?
Thanks for your compliment. Yes - you can get any site you like from the samples – but it will be only 5 pages. The colour style, layout etc CAN be exactly as you see – but you will get 5 pages (ie: home, services, about, contact, you choose the name). Hosting is separate and is paid annually $99 ($8.25 per month).

Do you come to our salon to take photos?
No we don’t provide photography services. Because the price is SO economical we cannot provide such service for the price we charge. We suggest that you get a reasonably priced Cannon digital camera and take photos of your clients for your site. Taking before and after photos are great for visitors to your site to see your level of skill. Please make sure you have your clients sign permission for you to use their photos on your site. Salonsofcanada.ca assumes that any photo submitted by salons owners for use on their sites are authorized for use by the subjects.
