Many companies use this successfully because what they offer as rewards are attractive enough for the client to take advantage of it. Take Air Miles for example their rewards are just fabulous. You man not be able to offer fabulous getaways to exotic places but you can offer something from your list of services instead. Your clients don’t expect you to offer them a trip to Hawaii, after all you are not a travel agency, they would however appreciate a complimentary hot exotic haircut- say after their 10th visit.
Many small companies offer this (my local dentist does it too, I really never bothered to take my loyalty card to be stamped because his rewards holds little appeal to me). For success – the rewards must be something that the client would appreciate.
I recommend that YOU keep a track of the visits for your clients in your client database. If you keep an electronic database create a way to record each visit on your client’s individual profile. If you keep manual index card database – have a section on the back of the card profile to tick off each visit. It will be more successful this way -most clients will not remember to get their card validated or even bring it with them. Your rewards program will have a high success rate if you keep track instead and your client will appreciate it.
