5 Host an Event
10 MUST DO Cheap Marketing TIPS for Canadian Salon Owners.

- 5. Host a Charitable Event
Canadians are very generous folks, we will be very happy to support a worthy cause. You don’t have to plan an over-the-top grand soiree – a simple affair in your salon or at a nearby park will do just fine. Be charitable and community minded in your event. Is there any charitable organization that could benefit for your services?
Suggestion: Ask your clients to bring in their discarded wigs as a fundraiser. You could refurbish them and donate to an organization that provides wigs for cancer survivors. Invite the recipient organization to attend the event to add credibility to your fundraiser also ask the organization if they can give the event a plug on their website or newsletter.
If holding an event is not to your liking, how about holding a winter/spring coat drive in your salon for needy kids in your area. Your clients would sure be happy to donate to this great cause and you would sure make a good impression on your clients. Imagine the mileage you would get when your clients brag about what you are doing at their workplaces. World Vision is another extremely worthy cause where you and your clients can sponsor a kid from your tips and share that child with your entire clientele. This would be a great bonding moment that would be very unique and special. There are so many great charitable organizations you can choose from that all play important role in the lives of others.
Advertise the event in your salon and on your website, even in your local paper, drum up excitement. You may even obtain FREE media coverage! Even if you don’t you would have contributed to a very worthy cause and you should feel proud of yourself. Giving is always in style – you don’t have to wait for the month of December to do this.
